FX assists individuals and groups with financial planning. He has been a Certified Financial Planner® for over a quarter of a century. His life’s journey encompasses military and federal employee experience. He has worked in the private sector as a financial planner for two investment firms and served as the Director of Education for the non-profit Financial Planning Board of Standards As the owner of Semper Why, LLC he has provided financial retirement seminars for the Federal Burea of Investigation, the United States Marine Corps, and the Military Sealift Command. He also provides employee seminars on topics such as Managing your Money, Teamwork, Telecommuting, and other topics. He retired from the FBI Academy as the Faculty Program Manager for the training and education of newly hired Intelligence Analysts and Special Agents. His military career encompassed command and staff positions. His duties included congressional liaison for the Commandant of the Marine Corps and the Secretary of Defense. He was selected as the first Director for Institutional Effectiveness at the Marine Corps University. He assisted clients with individual retirement planning and managing several 401(k) plans while working as a financial planner. He has over two decades of teaching experience in college classrooms and online courses for Statistics, Financial Institutions, Management, Personal Financial Management, and Business courses at Averett University, Park University, and Germanna Community College. Besides the professional designation of Certified Financial Planner®, FX is also a Chartered Life Underwriter®, Chartered Financial Consultant®, Chartered Advisor for Senior Living®, and Chartered Special Needs Consultant®. He holds a Doctor of Arts from George Mason University. His dissertation was qualitative and quantitative research on Post-9/11 GI Bill owners transferring the educational benefits to members of their families. His civilian education includes a MS in Financial Services from The American College, a MS in Management from the University of Southern California, a MA in Diplomatic History from Georgetown University, and a BS in Insurance from the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania. He has authored over 50 articles in military journals and financial publications.
